If I've got the big quotation clue that runs through the puzzle correctly, the fifth letter is an 'E'.

Is it 'Ranger' ie remove 'St'? I don't understand the rest of the clue.

Regarding the quotation clue I think you mean the sixth letter which is an 'E'.
