Static Electricity

At the moment I'm plagued with getting static shocks when I touch a metal light switch or a shiny metal radiator. It's only been in the last week or so this has been happening and is worse in the morning when I'm still in my pyjamas and dressing gown but does happen occasionally once I'm up and dressed too.

Is it something to do with the weather conditions perhaps, or have I suddenly become a live wire? Does anyone else have this happen to them?

Maybe get non-nylon pyjamas/dressing gown ? Sheets even.

I'm all cotton and wear sliders not slippers, which appear to be made of rubber ish material, OG.

Yeah the rubber isolates you until you touch something earthed. Try without them. But also try to find out why you get charged up in the first place.

That used to happen to me vagus. Everytime I tried to put my key into the car lock I shot up in the air LOL.  Actually not funny at the time.  Can't remember when it stopped or any reason for it happening.

No, no new carpets Hoppy, nothing has changed as far as I'm aware.

LB, it's making me very wary when I need to switch a light on, really makes me jump.

Apparently cold dry weather and central heating can cause static build up. So that's it, no more central heating, can't do anything about the weather though.

it has been very cold and dry here actually, once the rain finally stopped.
