Clue Chain

Many years ago on another forum I started a game I called CLUE CHAIN. The idea is that the setter poses an original home made clue which everybody is invited to solve. The poster who solves the clue first (hopefully identified by the setter) is then invited to post their own original clue. If anybody is interested in playing my clue is

The answer is Strut but I'll leave you to parse it.

Much as I have enjoyed playing the Clue Chain game, I think the time has come for me to stop  ..  Miser did ask for "an original home made clue" and this clue appears on many Google sites - strange!  I won't be posting any further clues.

Miser/  I was actually reading your thread early this morning and have to add that I also used to enjoy this until, on a few occasions, I noticed that Brainiac was setting clues which are to be found on sites such as Crossword Solver, Wordplay, etc.  Maybe I should have alerted you then but I just stopped playing the game.  You did ask for home-made clues and it spoils it for others when somebody tries to be smart - some people are good at solving clues but are completely useless at composing them.
I hope you make it very clear how you want your thread to continue as I'm sure some people found it enjoyable and fun.

I suggest that if you spot a clue that you are sure is not original you point this out and set a clue of your own.
