What is the word? The AB thread suggests 4d, but I’m unsure as to the method to arrive at the answers. All help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
ACROSS:
12: AA???TU 15: A?L? 19: AC?M?OST 35: ADG?N?ST 40: ?E?P 42: AC???MO
DOWN:
2: AB???TT 4: AEE?L?PP 8: E?O? 26: CE?I?OTV 29: ABE?RS 38: ?E?S
Thanks, Matakari. If you get given the answers to those four Unclued entries, wouldn't that be the puzzle finished off?
If you scored out all the letters you've used in the Unclueds , as per the preamble, from CRIPPLING... there really won't be a lot left! And as you've got eight of them, you'll know about the alphabetical order - so some of the Crippling... letters can be ruled out immediately.
I'm not being unhelpful, I'm just keen for you to do the finishing off, and get the satisfaction of that!
Ok, I’ve got the following, but I’m unsure where the letters must go and that’s the little trick, I know.

35: ADG?N?ST ( STANDING )
