A neat construction and there was a good variety of clues (a handful being quite tough). The endgame, alas, was a chore -- a nice idea though.

Thanks, Harribobs.

Thanks emcee -  we were considering dispensing with the endgame and your post has convinced us.

The gridfill was satisfying all the same.

Thanks, Harribobs.

There was a helpful recommendation from elsewhere to utilise an online tool to assist the endgame. Would have been a terrible slog otherwise. Extraordinary construction and some tough clues.

Thanks Harribobs

One of my favourites this year, purely because of the endgame. Yes, it needs software assistance, but there's a nice logical path to the correct solution, and it's a piece of cake compared to other puzzles requiring such assistance.

I like the way you are forced to complete the grid exactly. Also, I couldn't detect the hidden message until I'd parsed virtually every clue. The only downside to this one is that you can't appreciate the beauty of it at face value. Many thanks, Harribobs.

All done now - thanks to technical assistance.

A masterpiece of efficiency.

Thanks again, Harribobs.

A terrific construction, and an Ascot Gold Cup contender for sure, in my book, along with Ready Now by 'Eck, Creature Feature by Sabre and By George! by Enigmatist. Is there one by Shark, Twin or Elgin in the pipeline to upset the apple cart?

I'm mystified - what is Harribobs' answerbank ID ?

@canary42 - Harribobs set a very clever crossword rather than posed a question.

It is a custom of fans of the Listener to foregather here to thank the setter.
