Bbc Quiz: Week 38
Good evening, everyone!
I could only manage a pathetic TWO out of seven in the grown-ups' quiz this week:

I did rather better on the junior one though, with FOUR out of five:

Been a tiring day, but I can't resist a challenge so: 4/7 and3/5 = 7.
Info. for everybody - avoid Northallerton like the plague at lunchtime on Fridays. You have now been warned..... I'm shattered.
Cottage is all terribly modern - we can't work out how to use anything!!! And I can't phone the owner!!!!!!!!!! Ah well, the cold light of dawn may bring rationality. :)
Hi, Sam!
I feel a bit better now that someone's got a lower aggregate score than I managed 😊
[I'm bumbling along in much the same way as usual, thank you. I hope that you're well too!]
The same aggregate as me, I see, Kwillmott, but in a much more grown up way though! 🙂
Straight to the top of the table, as usual, Lie-in King!
Well done!
Thanks for allowing me to beat you, Haras2 😊
Our forecast for tomorrow is for a warm and sunny day, with a gentle breeze. (I might even get to the seaside, which I've been promising myself to do all summer but never actually managed!). It's Sunday when we've got thunderstorms forecast here (which is no good for my amateur radio hobby, as I have to disconnect my antenna).
The Terrific Trio and I send our best wishes to you for a lovely week ahead!
Good Evening, Chris!
My scores tonight are 4/7, 4/5
Had a few wonderful days away around Matlock and your links and info were very useful as we found lots of steam train rides and great villages to visit. Our cottage was stunning and such a bargain to find at last minute.
Already a busy weekend here as it is my younger son's birthday today and we have had a small gathering tonight after everyone finished work, then will be having more celebrations over the weekend, and as much as I am enjoying and looking forward to them, I'm sure I will feel exhausted when Monday comes around.
Had a few quick cuddles with new Granddaughter tonight which is the best feeling ever!
How are the terrific trio doing? What have they and you been up to recently?
Wishing you and the kitties a wonderful week ahead :-)
^^^ Most definitely, Sandy!
There are so many different aspects to it that it can appeal to many different types of people. e.g., there are 'DXers', who like the challenges of making contacts with far off places, 'rag chewers' who just enjoy chatting with friends old and new, 'contesters' who enjoy getting as many contacts as possible (of a particular type) within a specified period of time, 'QSL card collectors' who enjoy sending and receiving cards confirming contacts all across the world, 'experimenters' who like to try out different antennas, etc, 'mode specialists' who like to work with digital modes or using 'slow scan TV', people who bounce radio signals off the surface of the moon, people who use 'repeaters' on satellites (and on the ISS) to bounce signals across the world, etc, etc.
Making a contact with someone in Australia, just using the same power as a domestic lightbulb, is quite a challenge but it's a great feeling when it's achieved!
It looks lovely, Haras2!

Good evening, Karamia!
Well done on beating me!
I'm glad that you enjoyed your time in Derbyshire. (As I lived in Sheffield for 20 years, I often visited Derbyshire, which is right next door to the city).
I hope that the birthday celebrations will go well this weekend and that you'll keep on getting lots of cuddles with the new arrival.
I get plenty of cuddles too - with my 5am alarm call that arrives at that time every morning (in the shape of Chequers!). He's the softest, soppiest cat in the world! The other two are loyal as well, with Tablo and Moonbeam insisting on accompanying me to and from the local comunity centre bar once or twice per week!
We all send our best wishes to you and your family for a great weekend and a lovely week!
Well done on beating me easily, Campbellking!
My lot rarely fall out (thankfully!), which is probably because they're all from the same litter. (Most sources seem to suggest that cats from the same litter are far more likely to get along well with each other than any other pairings might be).
However, as I've mentioned above, I get an alarm call from Chequers at 5am each morning, who insists upon waking me at that time to demand food and/or to demand a bit of cuddling from me. He's a big, daft softy!
I hope that Puss Puss and Bailey will let you get some quality sleep tonight and, of course, that you'll all have a lovely week too!
