Are People Really Attracted By Unpleasant Trade Names

Two I recently noticed locally :-

Women's clothing =  Sweaty Betty

Men's barber = Rusty Razor

Well, these 2 caught your attention. That's what it's all about. Sweaty Betty is very pricey active wear.

 "Pricey"

 "Sweaty Betty".....urgh!

Bit tenuous but this has just reminded me of when as a child I used to see people on the main high streets with shopping bags marked Stolen From Ivor. I kept watching them to see if a policeman or security guard would grab them.

Sweaty Betty stuff is OK.  They've got a sale on at the moment.  I remember my daughter and I smiled when we first saw the name and she bought a pair of trousers.

I think Sweaty Betty is an appropriate, humourous name for a ladies' gym wear brand.

I never understood Superdry.  I initially thought it was a similar company as Driza-bone, selling waterproof outdoor clothing for rugged, adventurous typed
