Have worked (and lived) on a farm, up to my eyes in pig poo, chicken muck, and other assorted animal excreta, but theres just something about stepping into a pile of dog dirt that isnt natural....

I actually skidded in it on the way home from the shop.

Took my shoes of at the door but cant bring myself to clean them just yet.

Yet thought nothing about wading through piles of pig muck when I was employed on a farm. Quick shower afterwards and off out for the night.

Weird....

According to French tradition, Nailedit, stepping in the stuff with your left foot will bring you good luck but stepping in it with your right foot will bring about the opposite.

So I hope that you've been putting your left foot forward! 💩

That happened me once when I was wearing an old pair of boots, couldn't bring myself to clean them so binned them!

Relevant (from about 3 minutes in), I think 😁

Thats good to hear Chris 😁. It WAS actually my left foot that skided.

ellimay, left my wellies on the farm when I left but cant afford to dispose of shoes nowadays...

It's because dog poo (and cat poo) smells like ***, horrendous & retch inducing but pigs, cows, chickens, horses etc theirs has a comforting farmyard smell about it :-)

Yeah, weirdly it did. 😀

It was over 30 yrs ago but can still remember the smells etc.

BUT DOG DOINGS? Thats another matter...

I pranged my back skidding on dog poo years ago, it still twangs occasionally

Perhaps because farm animals are usually vegetarian, whereas dogs and cats are meat eaters?

Farm girl here. Can deal with any farm poop, blood, gore, etc. But cannot even look at dog poop without boaking.

I think that's it, Atheist.

Carnivore/omnivore poop is just awful.

Farm animals basically process grass and grains.

Saying that, horse poop is pretty gross too.

I knew a chap that kept two dogs, both totally vegetarian fed.

Not only did their poo not stink, it also devolved in the rain very quickly with no trace left behind. They were very healthy dogs too.

Horse poop is lovely. We used to collect it behind the rag and bone man to put on our rhubarb. Chicken *** was very stinky.

Atheist,we have custard on our rhubarb.
