Living In House After Flood - Health Hazards?

So on new years day I woke up to a flood. I am living with parents currently and their estate flooded (came from a flood basin but was mixed with brook water) same thing happened 9 years ago. 
 

When the water had gone we mopped up with bleach/cleaned the floor and are awaiting for insurance conpany to sanitise the floor meanwhile we are living in the house. It looks ok now but my comcern is there ate brooks nearby which I know contain sewage water do you think it is harmful to be exposed to this?

I mean I dont want to move out but the health hazards are in the back of my mind since someone told me it wasnt wise to living in the house until its sanitised

I can't answer your question about sanitation but I do want to say that I'm so sorry that this happened to you and your parents. I hope things are sorted for you soon.

How horrible for you. I would think that now the flood has gone and as long as you didn't ingest any of the water you'd be fine. Best wishes.

What a terrible thing to happen, you have my sympathy.

With regards to health hazard, I don't know how long any harmful bacteria persist, but I would think the risk diminishes with the passage of time, so if you've survived unaffected so far then continuing while awaiting sanitisation is probably OK.

Yea not sure why they build on flood panes it hadnt flooded for 60 odd years since being built but recently has flooded twice

I'm so sorry this has happened to you and parents. Terrible. Hope all is put right soon. A lot of the drains are clogged in a lot of places and the council haven't got enough funds to clear them out. Pathetic, if true.

The way I look at it is that you have bleached and cleaned as best you could so the thing is to trust you have done a good job and not worry about it.
