37A Divorcee playing lute with duke was very joyful (7) E?U??R? might be EPULARY (pertaining to feasting, joyful) but why?

32D Saint Alfred's inhaled drug (5) I think this is INTAL (lurker) but it makes 37 something else.
Oh and there is one more:

39A Heroic songs edited by simpleton exuding whiskey (4)

?D?(A) the A being possibly depending on INTAL.
Any pointers please. I have found this a real struggle but am so close...

Thanks!

37 Exulted - Ex, divorcee+ anagram of Lute and D, duke.

Sorry, just noticed that you mentioned 'pointers' 39. An abbreviation for Edited, followed by the first two letters of an unusual (to me) three letter word for a simpleton. The answer means Heroic songs, and crops up quite often.

Thank you Neveracrossword. So obvious when you explain it!

Pianoman, glad I could help.

Our answers must have crossed. I am not quite there with the heroic songs despite having looked in Chambers. I have ED?A and wondered about SAP for simpleton but can't make sense of exuding whiskey unless it means removing a W? A direct answer would in this case be welcome! Thank you.

39 edda, ed da(w)

//Daw" is an obsolete term that means a simpleton, fool, or blockhead.//

Pianoman, Daw is the simpleton, I checked online before I replied. Drop the W for whiskey. When I did the puzzle myself, I just stuck in Edda as I'd seen that before.

I'll need to have shorter replies or type more quickly!

^ sorry for jumping in NAC, wasn't sure if you would see the query x
