On a loan. What do you think? Smart move to remain neutral and avoid further conflict, whilst still providing support?

Smarter than funding a space programme in an open sewer I suppose.

While things are in such chaos it would seem a reasonable continuation of support. European nations (and others) need to get a common plan going forward agreed though.

Ukraine is fighting a war against Russia on behalf of the rest of Europe and we should be eternally grateful to them.

We either spend that money now to keep the war in east or spend it later when the front line gets nearer to us and involves our people.

Terrible but true.

Tomus is right and the sooner the rest of Europe realise this the better.

Would you rather Vlad win this war he started and then annex more European countries?

If there is a dollar to be made Donald will help him.

Depends what you mean by Russia "winning this war".

If a million or so Russian dead is "winning" it seems like a Pyrrhic victory. If they get to keep Crimea & some of eastern Ukraine it's probably a price worth paying to end it.

This "special operation" has been so costly to Russia I doubt if they will be keen to start another - at least in Putin's lifetime.

It isn't cash, it's equipment and arms which are manufactured in the UK creating employment.

This will only prolong the war.

I may be wrong above ^^

"..the Government will release £2 billion in dividends and profits from frozen Russian assets to the Ukrainian military in a one-off payment. The policy was announced in October but will now be signed off in a loan agreement with Ukraine’s finance minister.

Mr Zelensky, on X, formerly Twitter, said: “This is true justice  – the one who started the war must be the one to pay.//  The Telegraph

Are we giving away money which isn't ours, to someone who can dispose of it in any way it wants to?

What's going on here?

The only way to be able to claim to have won this war is to provide enough power to force the invader back behind (and preferably further) their border as it was before the present dictator took power in Russia.  You can't achieve that by skimping on resources and crying over cost.
