Hey all, can anyone tell me why it is, if i fill up my car with unleaded petrol at say' safeways' i only get 34/35 miles to the gallon, but if i fill up at 'Jet' i get 39/40, is the petrol mixed differently, do safeways water it down???? ha ha please let me know as it is very perplexing, Ta xxxxxx
the main difference between most of the major petrol suppliers is the additives they put into their petrol as most of the fuel itself comes from the same sources so it could just be that your car "likes" jet or there are no additives in the safeway motion lotion.
well, Astonvilla............I have a car that has a computerised petrol gauge, it tells you all sorts of weird and wonderful facts like how many miles to the gallon and exactly how many miles you can go til you need to fill up!!!!! Also how many miles since you last filled up, so does that answer your question......oh yes and it makes coffee too, xxxxxx
Unless you drove exactly the same route in the same conditions with the same amout of acceleration and breaking the comparison is not really valid and the differances are probably due to changes in driving conditions and style
You will find your fuel consumption goes down with the ambient temperature, especially on short trips. The headlights, heater air conditioning &ct. also use power, and it all comes from the fuel in the tank. Any power not used in actually propelling the car forward (i.e. braking, electrical gear &ct.) contributes to lowering the fuel efficiency.
Well Ned, I like my coffee like I like my women, strong, sweet and black...........and as for my car it's just a plain and boring Renault scenic, plenty room in the boot tho' for asking babes back ha ha!!!!!
