after hearing the world cup and wimbledon are to be seen on HD tv i was wandering if i could still watch it on my small tele and i was also wandering what the difference is between a HD tele and a other tele?

A HD television is an improved format in preparation for the Full Digital Age when Analogue is eventually turned off. This is not going to happen for at least another couple of years - even longer in some places.

Do not worry - you will still be able to see the World Cup and Wimbledon on your existing tv.

my son wants a HD TV, plumbs have one for 699, he keeps on about it so we will see for the World Cup.

Dot theres some 36 inch hd tv's on internet for under �500!

There was an interesting article in the Mail yesterday.

Looks like HD ready sets aren't the full monty because they only give 720 lines resolution but full hd is 1080 lines

Personally, I'll wait for full hd and not the half way house

I've heard that to get the full potential of H.D. Tele, you need a digi box that can recieve H.D. signals, similar to Sky T.V. Apparentley Sky are doing such a box........but it cost �300, plus you need to buy the H.D. tele and upgrade your Sky subscription!!!!
