Why do people also frown when you say you are going to blackpool

Why do people not like Blackpool ? It's not just known for getting drunk and amusements .I used to love it as a kid going in the tower the ride on the trams,the old winter gardens ,I say leave Blackpool alone .What do others think ? Thanks

It is fine in the day inej, but at night it turns into a cattle market, they slap a number on a birds back when she walks into a bar

I used to do the same as a child and loved the attractions and bright lights and still do.

My brother lives in Blackpool with wife and two kids and he has a lovely semi-detached house in a peaceful area of the place. I know Blackpool is labelled as being 'rowdy' and 'disorderly' but that is only the pier with the amusements and the few clubs nearby. Because of this Blackpool has a terrible label but in fact most of it is lovely and peaceful.

Too many people generalise.

My Brother-in-Law is from blackpool and he grew up in a massive detached house just behind the North pier and his parents had 3 fish & Chip shops in the town but he has seen a deterioration in the behavior of visitors over the last 20 years.

At night i agree at a certain time you don't want to be out on the front with your family ,with the drunks,but i do think people knock it.the only thing what i think is really going to change it is when it turns into the mini las vegas . I think that will put me off .

i have to laugh when i was a kid , if i was in the car travelling and at the first glimpse of the tower i had got my shoes and socks off. Still a bit funny now when i see the tower.

As anybody heard that arabs are taking it over and they are moving the police station to build the sealife centre?

Clown tickle we used to go to southport also when i was child but sometimes you could see the tower so it made me moany cos wanted to go to blackpool.

i went there a couple of years ago , was very suprised they had built a lot of big stores along the seafront . it was a nice day out though. We visited morecambe last weekend but that hadn't changed much . But i hear they are doing it all up.

I only live 40 minutes away from Blackpool, and I adore it, always have.

OK at night it can get errrr a bit grim shall we say? but during the day it's still the way we love it, loud, tacky and brash......with candyfloss on top!

Nothing wrong with Blackpool,some of the guest houses need a bit of TLC, but I like it,but you will allways get a snobby element looking down on it, shame they can't relax and enjoy it for what it is.

I went to Blackpool for the first time about five years ago, and felt very intimidated walking along the front at night. I much prefer Yarmouth, which is more family friendly, even at night.

I'm about 40 mins off Blackpool as well Boo and still love going! I don't go at night but the daytime is fun. Especially walking the golden mile with donuts- 5 for a �1!
