It really annoys me that some crosswords have very short entry submission times. The worst at the moment is the News of the World which has to be in by Tuesday. When you live in the wilds of Cornwall like me there is no Sunday post and will a first class stamp get there in time? I never entirely trust the post at the best of times.
Winge over, best of luck to ABers.

It seems very sort-sighted of NOW et al to have such short dates for entry as this must put off many people. Do papers sell addresses to mail order etc? If they do, the more they can generate the more money they can get, surely.
Iolanthe - I do all of the sunday Xwords I can - I am able to get them from works canteen late afternoon before the papers are chucked, then spend sunday evening doing them. But even if I was able to finish sunday morning there's no post to take the entries. This is why it annoys me (even if the Xwords are free to me).
cleverold - have a word with your paper boy/girl. Ours comes early, but he does then take a shortcut through our hedge to get next door - I caught him at it the other morning!
