Pls help me find the film !!!!

can anyone help me find this film , it was mid-80's i think , i'm pretty sure it was a channel 4 film , it was definitely British , it was about 3 children(2 Boys & a Girl) who were all brought up in the same childrens home , & the 2 lads were both into this girl , but she ended up with the more violent one , & when they went on a trip or holiday to the seaside , they ended up killing another kid , & they got away with it or made it look like an accident , the film then jumps ahead a few years & the lad who she snubbed at first & her get it on & they all end up in a car crash & i think one of them dies. i seem to remember it had a Nick Drake tune in the Soundtrack(could have been Saturday Sun ?) does this ring a bell with anyone ?

On reflection it wasnt One Summer but i know the film you are talking about it.
I remember it vividly and it was the talk of the playground next day but cant for the life of me remember what it was called.
