How do I get rid of duplicates in iTunes?

...apart from the obvious method of listing the duplicates and then clicking on evrey other song, is there a simple way to eliminate duplicate tracks? I've somehow managed to get rather a lot of them and it's gonna take a loooong time if I do it the obvious way!

No it;s not ,how about edit>show duplicate tracks then delete them all in one go. works for me

bimbim......I've thought about that as well, but does that not also delete the original, so you end up with nothing in the library? Did that make sense?

limey has already tried the way of the showing duplicates, and it does show the original and the copys so you have to becareful not to delete them all
