Presumaby, you mean that the clue is to be ignored, not the crossword as a whole?

I e-mailed the address shown after 41D.
I received a prompt response, which states that the clue for 44 D is 'of unknown origin' (4 letters) and the answer is ANON.
Mr. Mepham also states 'The clue will be null and void for the purposes of the competition, so entries without that solution will be accepted.'

How about the three s's of 11D (ogresss) if one pluralises Tong (s) which it wasn't?
