i know you might all think im weird but have anyone done there xmas shopping yet? Went out yesterday and bought our 2 kids all there xmas pressies. we will pick up the odd few more but all there main pressies are hiding away already.
Ive bought my sons. Keep saying I wont buy any more for him as he was unwrapping pressies for days last year (his first xmas).
Problem is, i keep seeing things that would be perfect for him and have to control myself
I've nearly done all my Xmas shopping, only have a few bits and pecies left to pick up ;-)
I do it from a finance point of view really because I know I find it hard to save money for Xmas presents, so by buying them months in advance means that I know I won't forget anyone or run out of money!
Well that's the theory anyway but I always seem to buy more as the closer I get to Xmas, the more things I see that I want to buy for people and still end up practically broke for New Year!
i'm afraid i'm a last minute shopper, ie a week or so before xmas.
Don't get me wrong, tho's who want to plan in advance ''Good luck'' to you, but theirs something about shopping at the last minute around town, with the xmas carols ringing out in the background etc which me & my wife prefer
redcrx what did u buy your son i have a 13 month old son and have no idea what to get him he doesnt need any clothes and im useless what to buy boys his toybox is over crouded now
I do some in advance and recently I've done the majority on the internet. I used to work for a company that would deduct money for Christmas from our salary every month and give it to us in November + interest, we used to get our pay rise in October and I each year I 'added' it to my Chrismas Fund which was fantastic. When I left the company I carried on but put it in a high interest account which means at the begining of next month I have a nice big chunk of money for Christmas ( if there anything left I spend it in the Sales!). It makes me sound very organised but I'm not, I just find Christmas with son, nieces, nephews and + 3 birthdays (son and 2 nephews) in Chrismas week a nightmare financially. I also go to 5 different Christmas 'do's' which also seems to cost a fortune. I don't even go overboard on pressies it's just soooo expensive.
For close family and friends I always buy my Christmas Cards from the Muscians Benevolent Fund because I love the cards and like the charity (being married to a musician!) and I like the fact they commission an artist to design the cards every year. I buy those in September so that thoretically they are all written and ready to go early December as I'm always really busy in December .
I have bought a few things still have some things to get as natalie says its kind of from a finance point of view but also the shopping centre near me is just madness it a no go area on sat and sun and i Just cant face the thought of queues parking etc, so better to get it all done now while its not too bad.
I don't do xmas,to its the saddest month for me & brings back memories that makes me want to cry.but on the othr hand,i buy presents 4 my frinds & family,I don't celebrate it.
Unless there's something special (like one of those calendars you can have your own photos on for each month like the mum likes) I need to get then I'm a last minute kinda girl as it doesn't feel like Christmas shopping otherwise.
I do get some as I live in the city so tend to make the most of the Christmas markets and different shops up here as none of my family live near a city.
