which laptop???

hey guys, im studying here in the uk and have decided to buy a laptop, and as dont have much knowledge on this type of thing i would really appreciate it if some one could give me some advice. studying and not being at home means i dont really have much money to spend on a laptop although i do realise laptops are not very cheap. although i have recently seen a number of laptops on the tv that cost around �400 and i have also been looking on the internet, and found some of the following:
