I don't buy The Observer, but get the Azed from the Guardian website every week. There, it offers a 'Click here' link for the preamble. Unfortunately when I do click there, all I get is an apology for their being unable to provide the preamble!
Would any kind person please tell me what the wretched thing says? My thanks in advance.

Go to crossword.org.uk - click on their message board. there is an exchange about this and the full preamble is there under Re3 Azed 1804- the full preamble.

Thanks for that, PJ, though I have to say - having read it - that my first reaction is to say "�Qu�?" No doubt all will become clear to me eventually.
