scottish islands

hi, I'm looking for a remote scottish island, somewhere like vatersay which is lovely, but not hours away on a ferry from the mainland as i get sicksea, the less there the better, want to see the real scottish island

skye is good and you don't have to catch a ferry but orkney is more remote and the ferry journey isn't bad cause i get seasick too!

Im from the Isle of Lewis, which is also joined to the Isle of Harris (they are not separate at all!!) Stornoway has an airport which can be reached from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness. It has everything to offer with the lively town of Stornoway, beautiful tranquil beaches throughout Lewis and Harris, the standing stones of Callanish and other historical sites. There is also the Hebridean Celtic Festival in July which is absolutely superb but it may be tricky getting accommodation at that time. A few links for you:

If you fly up, car hire would be recommended. If you can stand the drive to Ullapool then the ferry crossing takes 2.5 hours but its a very big ferry and you dont feel it at all.
