furniture polish on lino

can anyone help? A friend of mine has had an engineer out to fix her washing machine this morning and has sprayed furniture polish all over the kitchen floor to help slide out the machine. She now cant get it off the floor and has almost slipped over twice. Does anyone have any hints on how to get it off the floor.

You could try using a solvent such as white spirit or meths. I'd try it out on a section that's not going to be seen first, just in case the solvent reacts with the floor material.

try neat washing up liquid on a scourer one of those green ones not a metal one
