transit mk 6 front wheel bearing and hub (rwd )
i've got the above and am having trouble seperating the old bearing from the hub. it's allready off the van so the bearing is out of the wheel station. it's the hub part that fits inside the bearing that won't come out.
nearly broke my thumb trying so thought i'd ask you guys.
wondering if using a cutting wheel to remove the old bearing is the way to go?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.if i remember correctly this is the style with the three bolts that hold it in place. think i did one of these a couple of years back , i think you need to cut a line across the bearing race as it was a bit of a bummer to chap out with a hammer, but dont worry the biuld up with the new bearing is a bit easier!!

Looking at the date of the question you must have done it by now! You're right about cutting them off.
The trick is to get the outer race housings off. This is easily done by prising them off with a chisel or screw driver as they are only attached by the bearing seals. Once off you will see the 2 sets of tapered rollers held in a plastic cage. Break this off so all the rollers are out the way leaving just the two inner bearing housings that are attached to the hub shaft. Cut these through using a Dremmel with a small slitting wheel. You don't have to go right through as the the ring will crack open with the pressure and heat before you get down to the hub shaft.
