Hi All - I sent a payment through PAY PAL last Monday and the status is still set to 'Payment Pending' i.e. it has not cleared. The seller has informed me that they've had an email from PAY PAL saying it won't clear till Wednesday (although it came out of my bank account yesterday)? Is this normal? Also, the seller is saying they can't forward the goods until payment has cleared - I thought once payment was sent to PAY PAL it couldn't be recalled, i.e. the seller was guaranteed to get their money - am I wrong? Thanks

Hiya,

If it was an instant paypal payment from funds already in your paypal account then the seller would get the money instantly but if it is a payment from your bank account through paypal (echeque) then it does take quite a while to clear im afraid, it sometimes can take up to 7-9 days to clear the other end.

you can avoid the delay in future by having a back up source of funding put on there (ie a credit card), although if you do it now, it wont apply retrospectively.
the seller is right to wait till the echeques has cleared before sending the goods

Do what I do - send a cheque or a postal order. Less hassle by far lol.
