Colin McRae - RIP

Sad to hear the news that Colin McRae, his son and two family friends were killed in a helicopter crash yesterday. He was one of the best rally drivers and the first Briton to win the World Championship in 1995. Does anyone else want to leave any thoughts or condolences to a rally legend?

Last year he was driving in the Donegal Rally and he was saying he would do everything he could do to get the world rally to donegal . The world rally will be in donegal in two months time , its a shame he will not see it. His Playstation One game was the first game i got on the PS1. A lovely man ,he will be missed big time . It is sad that two kids died too. Words just can't sum it up ,its so sad

555 RIP - Colin was the man that put Subaru on the map in rallying and positively influenced sales of the car as we know it today. Immensley talented, brave and courageous, I was saddened to learn of this tragedy. God bless them and god help his remaining family!

i have followed colin throughout his career and i thought he was a top man!!!!!

i wish his wife and daughter all my heart throughout this awful time!!

he was one of my hero`s. i`ll never forget when i saw him at his own stages in scotland in 1999.
an amazing driver, and will always be missed.

So many thoughts about Colin. The world of motor sport is an emptier place without this unique man, he gave it all, thrilled us, for those of us who came into contact with him he was a gentleman, had time and thoughts for others, offered his thoughts, encouragement and often more to fellow competitiors, he inspired everyone. His legacy will live on in a few up and coming stars who he has mentored, they will never let us forget Colin. We must all remember His son Johnny, his lovely wife Alison, Hollie. Alistair, Margaret and Jimmy. all his friends. Our sadness has to go to Ben and Graham too. Colin I thank you. But, WHY....
