If you take the Sunday Telegraph, but don't normally try Enigmatic Variations in the "Seven" section, why not try today's?

If you can tackle standard cryptic crosswords you should be able to have a go at this week's EV. There's a slight bit of trickery going on with the clues, but once you get a start it is (IMHO) fairly plain sailing, with only a small proportion of unusual words.

Good luck!

Yes, this would be a good one to try if you are new to EV, as they have been a good deal trickier than this of late.

It must be good! I have completed it .... on my own..... this is the second week running. Loved it, but then have always liked the works of the author. Very enjoyable.
I second that Physicsgirl. Same experience and I, too, like the author. And I agree with Bunstance and Cruciverbali - an ideal one to cut ones teeth on.
quickest EV Ive ever completed, I wonder if the listener is as easy this week, I doubt it
