my sisters bridal dress fitting
5 Answers
OK, my sister is getting married may 2008, I'm one of the bridesmaids, this is all good (even if she is making me wear pink!!)
i can see friction ahead though
- i got a text from her this week asking me if i could come to her dress fitting in two weeks time,
i replied saying i wouldn't be able to make it as its one of my working days and as i would be going on my yearly trip to Cornwall for two weeks after i couldn't take a third Friday off, and also its the same day she is having a birthday party for her fiance so i wouldn't have time to drive there and back and walk the dogs and do the stuff i needed to do and be back for the party (and drive back home after)...the response to that was, well cant you re-organise as everyone else has taken time off to come,
i really don't see what the fuss is about, I've already seen her in a variation of the dress (slightly different coloured beads) and ......... its seven months till the wedding, the bridesmaids dresses haven't even arrived from America yet, should i really be at her beck and call till she gets married? i cant afford to just take time off when she fancies trying the dress on (and if the last time she got married is anything to go by it could be every week!!)
am i being unreasonable??

She's maybe just over excited and wanting everyone to be up there with her
Im sure she will understand that you have work and other commitments too.

she is maybe just very stressed, its a strange time for her, because she's planning a day thats all about her. (and the groom of course). she'll be used to getting so much attention by now, and probably expects the same from you, forgetting u have ur own life. i'm sure she's not doing it on purpose. just let her get on with her own thing, silly things like this can cause so much stress before the wedding, which neither of u need. anyways, whats she having a dress fitting for? i work in a bridal shop, and fitting are to be left until the last few weeks in case of weight going up and down. dont worry, everything will be fine:)
