How irritating is it...?
13 Answers
Are you ever so irritated by your other half that you consider leaving them? I have a friend who is separated from his wife. He is very confused as sometimes when he goes over to see the kids, he feels as if he should go back for good, but it is only a matter of time before he gets so irritated by his wife that he knows he never could. Do you think they should just call it a day- accept their differences and split for good? Or can you learn to cope with the things about your other half that drive you insane?

Everyone has faults, I don't care who they are, and yes, the smallest things can irritate some people beyond reason, but I think many people just get irritable with their partners these days because they're so stressed out themselves. Surely you should tolerate your partner's bad habits as much as they should tolerate yours? On saying that - depends on the gravity of the habit!!!
Hey Scarlett,
There are times that my other half drives me to insanity! He HAS to put the light on when he gets up at 5am - I wouldn't, he makes more noise than anyone I have ever known when blowing his nose - don't even go there with farting!
I'm sure I drive him mad with the things that I do too, only sometimes do I do them on purpose!!!

I get irritated with Mr O on a daily basis. It's always over minor things, such as I'm fanatically tidy and he leaves things where they drop, he's a hypochondriac, he leaves pressie shopping for his side of the family to me etc etc. I'm sure I annoy him just as much as he annoys me. However, these annoyances are SMALL things. Any relationship is about give and take and learning to accept your partners failings AND admitting to your own. I'd say if there is an issue that seriously drives one party insane then both should be able to sit down and discuss it. If there is no communication then there is no relationship.
haha boo
my partner irritates the t@ts off me at times especially when drunk, i get very agitated with him. on the other hand we can get on really well and be on the same wavelength.
its a matter of if you can handle these love hate relationships, it does your head in but the grass isnt always greener on the other side.....

I have a mate in the same boat as your mate..
I would call it a day if he felt he could handle it he wouldn't of walked away.
Every body is different ok you should cope with certain things as everybody can irritate you.
But every one has a different breaking point and it sounds like your mate gone past his
As he has walked away i would stay away ...

Aww hussy -thats me and mine to a T.
We are either all loved up or else at each others throats -there doesnt appear to be a middle ground.I think that the main reason we are together is that I dont see him for 10days and then he's home for 4 -only prob then is the Voddie-its like the elixir of life for him -grrrrr
However you know when the irritation that we have all spoken about are more than having to tolerate your partners habits due to the intimacy of your life together or losing respect for a partner.
I had a partner who literally would do anything for me and eventually I had to end it because I lost respect and began treating him like the doormat he had allowed himself to be.Thats not a healthy balanced relationship when youre not on an equal par. (He probably thinks he got of light now -lol)
