Title of drama series

Can anyone help with title of drama series from approx 10 years ago. It was about a couple, the wife was an optician who rang a shop and the husband was a GP doctor. They lived in a big house in a small english town. I think that the wife became involved with an odd job man who visited the house. As I recall the actress may have been Irish, and had black hair. I think may have been on BBC not ITV? Any suggestions?

I am trying to get hold of a copy of the series Pure Wickedness with Orla Brady, Kevin Whately, David Morrissey, Lesley Dunlop etc. Either CD or VHS would do. Glad to pay.
