Paternity Dispute

Hi all, could really do with some help on this one. My partner has never truly thought that his children are biologically his however now evidence has come to light that his ex has been heard bragging that the youngest isn't his so we are planning on attempting a court order to force DNA testing but I am aware that the Judge may not necessarily want to do that without sufficient evidence as the children are 8, 10 & 14. I just need to know what sort of evidence might be applicable, I believe that we could possibly get the real father of the youngest to come forward, would that be enough or would we require more? I know it's a bit of a oddity but if anyone has been through this I'd love to hear from you. I just think that everyone has the right to the truth, not just lies that my partner's ex has fabricated.

Are we to understand that your partner is denying paternity for THREE children? Sounds a bit careless to me. I suggest the partner consults a solicitor regarding DNA testing. Is the 'partner' supposed to be financially responsible for the children? Poor kids..... sounds like a **** for a mother and a loser for a father/ 'partner'.

LindyLou, I am trying to obtain some actual advice here and although I may agree with some of your opinions regarding the mother, my partner is by no means 'a loser', he earns a good living and at the time of him being with his ex he thought he was doing the right thing by trying to keep everyone else happy but surely he deserves to know the truth as do the children.

We have heard that she has recently been bragging that at least one of the children is not his whch to me would suggest that it would be best to have all the children tested. We have spoken to our solicitor hence the knowledge of the court orders etc.

Wow, Lindylou was a bit harsh.........If your partner pays through the CSA can he not ask them if they can advise about DNA explaining the situation? Maybe he could then write to the mother and the CSA and threaten to stop payments until the tests are done. I think thats perfectly fair and would make the mother sit up and take notice
