Technology
On the radio it was asking listeners what piece of technology did they first remember or what amazed them.
Youngsters these days don't seem to be amazed at anything new that comes out now, they just take it in their stride and sometimes don't even have to read the instruction book, to get it up and working.
In the 50s I bought a Pye radiogram nothing particular un-usual about that, except to say that it had a removable stylus head. Clip in the special recording head, put a special magnetic disc on the turntable and one could record onto this via a mike, and then play it back. One erased the recording via a hand held magnetic device.
I do believe that Pye was taken to court by Columbia over patent infringements.
