At first, I thought that some of the clue numbers as printed are incorrect. Because, for example, there is no grid entry for 19a. The same goes for 20d.


But I have decided that it is the grid that is wrong.

There should be a horizontal bar below the square with 17 printed in it, and there should be anothe horizantal bar symmetrically placed in the penultimate row.

Then some of the square numbers printed in rows 5 and 6 need to be moved to different squares to fit with the printed clues.

To add to the confusion, the answer lengths given for 16a and 23a are also wrong.

Haven't quite finished yet but have reached much the same
conclusion. Can't remember seeing this many mistakes in an Inquisitor crossword. I have the pseudonym and at least some thematically linked words, but can't yet fathom the significance of the title.

Finally got the correct 6 word question and the significance of the title. I can only find 3 thematically linked words (which give the unchecked letters of the pseudonym); its not clear whether there are, or should be more?

I should have said "in the penultimate column", not "in the penultimate row", in the opening post here.

I had noticed the slip, but intention was clear given the usual symmetry involved. Shame the grid was messed up; it was ultimately a satisfying crossword - once I'd got over the irritation caused. Might now invest in a stamp to send it off -- and hope this one's not cancelled!

I am stuck on this one.
Is this steans, steens or steins and does it give A as the extra letter? And if so can you explain it for me, please?

It is STEANS = lines

Nick's = SATANS with an E (for penning English) in it, leaving you with an extra A.

Yes, the grid and some numbers are wring, but the answer lengths are part of the theme; read the preamble and you'll see that some have blank spaces included.

I assumed that it was just that Bangkok is in Thailand, and these apparations appear at night (usually).

Maybe there is some deeper hidden connection, but I had not thought about it.
