boyfriend problems
16 Answers
Had an arguement with my boyfriend who i live with last night. He said that because i wasnt upbeat about visiting his parents it caused him to be in a bad mood. Trouble is i hate his parents! His dad called me fat and said i needed to get to the gym and then when drunk at xmas said to my best mate that my boyfriend, his son should get rid of me like a sack of ****! So i dread seeing them as i really do not like them. So i told him how i felt and he was not happy at all! now were not speaking and i am really upset. He is the kind of person that you tell them how your feeling and try to talk things through but what he says goes.....so what do i do now? i have apologised for upsetting him with the stuff i said last night about his family and yet hes still going over it! Help! x

You are right to be upset, his father was really out of order!
No matter how much he loves his parents, there is no excuse for this kind of behaviour, and he should have had a word with his dad. He's being very unsupportive.
In the meantime, maybe just try to be the bigger person and be REALLY nice to his parents. No point making things worse by retaliating. However, if he continues to disregard bad comments about you, I'd really consider whether that relationship is worth it, frankly.

you cant have a relationship where one person decides what goes on. It might be best to finish it before it gets too bad. imagine how this resentment towards his dad would be in say five or six years time.
time for you to stand up to him and if he doesnt like it then tough. it would just prove that he is either a bully like his dad or a spoilt little kid
keep your chin up chick!

I always find these problems hard to put a good answer to, you should never be made to go somewhere you dont want to go and if your bloke cant handle that then he shouldnt be with you. My bloke doesnt like the pubs and I would never make him feel uncomfortable. But then there is the saying family should come first but not really because eventually you should be his family. Mmmmm I just dont know. I rarely argue with my man because whats point.

i think your right. the trouble is my partner has this mentality like a hippy "love and peace to all" he hates confrontation and arguements so he sticks to "ill brush it under the carpet and wont need to deal with it" then it leaves me still upset months and months after as it never got sorted and then i feel like people think they can get away with calling me and my boyfriend wont say a word x
