ooo, how odd!

OK I'm assuming you have restarted the computer and it still happens every time you start the 'puter and come online.

First place I'd look is all the little icons down by the clock, if you hover your mouse pointer over each of them in turn a description of each one should pop up, if any of them say anything that looks like a player or radio try right clicking on it and select exit or close. (you may hvae to click the little arrows to see all the icons)

if it stops the radio then goto add remove programs in control panel and see if anything matches the previous description and remove it.

could be worse, could be radio3 (cue radio3 lovers!)
Id run your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs too, just in case. This has been associated with some infections too

Thank you for your answers. I made further investigation and am now certain that current atmospheric conditions are causing anomalous propogation. The signal was from a Taiwanese station and did not need an online connection so my system can obviously receive and detect the frequency concerned. It does not cause a problem as the audio is low level and I only heard it when I was using my music recording program at a low level. It was not there this morning but I suspect can recur when conditions are suitable without infecting my computer. Interesting but so be it.
What sort of music do Taiwanese radio play?

The broadcast I heard was an interview with a Taiwanese tennis player; both with American accents but no music. Cheers
I also get blasting radio signal , but American in origin and not all the time. All searcghes buy Defender Pro anti virus and anti spy ware turn up nothing. There is no icons or programs that have anything to do with radio.

Hello Skee. Your system like mine has all the necessary parts of a radio reception system ie an antenna, a detector, and audio processing such that in certain atmospheric conditions you can receive a particular radio frequency and hear the audio. Without serious research into the system there is nothing you can do about it. You could try moving components and cables and so on but without sophisticated equipment there is little you can do. The signal should not do any harm apart from being the occasional nuisance. I just turn down the volume on my sound card and forget it.
