Stoping websites popping up on my computer
2 Answers
How do I stop websites randomly popping up on my computer when I am online.
The websites are adverts for casinos, gambling, loans etc. When the sites pop up they have an address which I have attempted to block in the internet security settings section.sites still pop up however and when they do there is a bar appearing at the bottom of my computer screen with the website address he text CiD: hhtp/.
the computer will not let me block the CiD: saying it is not a web address.
I have also blocked pop ups and deleted all my cookies. This seems to help temporarily but when the computer is restarted the sites appear again.
I have searched for files on the computer with CiD and deleted them, but this does not seem to help either.
thanks

It comes with a very effective pop-up blocker which is just one of it's many advantages. The main reason though, was just to buck the trend. Whenever a particular program or application appears to become a default or a monopoly, I always tend to look for an alternative. Call me maverick but most times I never look back.
