itunes help required (again)

Further to my earlier question where my itunes had been deleted:
I've managed to get itunes back, i inserted a cd and it said do you want to save it to itunes, when i said yes my itunes opened up again as if nothing had ever happened.
When closing it there are no icons for re-opening and there is no programme in the all programmes drop list, so how do i access it and make an icon?
Also when opened it says that itunes is not my default audio system so it will not play music, how do i change this so i can listen again?
