if the contestant had a big ugly helmet on and couldnt see where they were going. It was definetly "Nightmare".

It sounds lik the final problem on the Adventure Game, there was a grid composed of triangles and a plyer had to move across it, while the "vortex" tried to put itself in the way, causing the player to lose and be vapourised if they moved onto it. I wouldn't have described it as a kid's show though, but it, or something like it would be very welcome in the schedules now in my opinion. Gronda Gronda Ragdno.
