any help please with these two as I have ground to a halt.

10a. see lid over copper pot, LO??
16d. smoke from salt-work worried US city, ??N?T???

I am afraid I too ground to a halt on this puzzle. As far as I could make out the two words making the instruction are THE SHUFFLE, but I could not see that "THE" made sense.

I have assumed that 10a is LOTA, which is a copper pot. But I don't see the wordplay.

16d is PANATELA

I have not solved 22ac, 28ac, 30ac and 8dn.

That would work for 10c if it was one of the answers where a letter has to be removed. But it isn't, if the puzzle is consistent. The grid entry and the clue both state a 4 letter answer.

many thanks to you both, hopefully it may get me going again. Rollo we seem to be in a similar position I havn't done the clues you mention or 12a also, and only about half the themed clues, I thought it might be ' top shuffle'

captainandy is right. The answer to 10a is LOTAH and the A has to be removed.
