It's time a little perspective was brought to bear here.

The two presenters have both apologised publicly and privately, and Andrew Sachs appears to regard this matter as closed.

The BBC has singularly failed to either place an appropriate editing proceedure for its output, or to deal promptly and effectively with what should have been a far less important issue than it has been allowed to become.

Let's hope their ludicrous feet-dragging will be terminated today, and the media can return to what passes for normal.

I agree - te fault really lies with the producer of the show. It is not argued by many that Rusell Brand and Jonathan Ross have been idiots but if it was pre recorded - why was it ever allowed to be broadcast?
It is not really their heads that should roll.

Even if it had not been broadcast those messages would still have been of Sachs answering machine.

I agree - it must have been horrible to receive those calls and they should be punished but what is happening to the producer and editor? They ALL deserve a rocket in my eyes. But worthy of 7 days front page news - I don't think so.

In reply to Baileybird in particular. I can't see how not broadcasting the show would have made one pennorth of difference to the basic nastiness - nothing could stop the horrid telephone call (or calls) being heard by the Sachs household, once left an answerphone message cannot be retrieved by the sender.

I feel sad that such a nice old gent should have had to hear such unpleasantness about his granddaughter in the guise of entertaining the masses. That alone can't be right or fair and I object to my money being spent on such a caper.

Respect is earned & if these two immature idiots hadn't have stooped so low as to phone Sach's house & leave disrespectful messages on his phone, they may not be in the situation they find themselves in today.

Can't stand either of them & sick to death of hearing excuses being made for them. There are no excuses, they both are rude, incentive & need to 'grow up'..

Whether or not Sach's granddaughter is a 'naughty' girl herself shouldn't even come into it - it's what was left on Sach's answer machine - end of!

Exactly smudgewhatever the girl has done or will do is irrelevant. She deserves compensation for being so ill-used. I suggested to Sky News earlier that Ross should be suspended for a year and his salary split between Georgina and a charity of Mr Sachs' choice, and now a bigwig is also suggesting it! ^^8^^

It's amazing how many people actually think they should just have a 'telling off', then get back to work!

No doubt they will appear on our screens again, but I won't be tuning in & if all the other people who complained follow suit......who knows!
