Copy of Financial Settlement

Back in 1998, I bought my then husband's share of our joint endowment policies, as part of the financial settlement of our divorce.
Recently, it has come to light that my solicitor failed to complete the assignation document transferring the policy to me. In effect, my ex-husband still owns the policy jointly with me!!
As it is now 10 years on, our soliciors do not have copies on file of the details of our settlement. Does anyone know if the details of a financial settlement are held anywhere centrally for reference?

I don't know the answer to your question, but did you not keep a copy yourself? Or has your ex got one (assuming he is still amenable)?
