Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Last one I'm not sure about. 25a. Helen? Hel being the noun in question, but cannot work out the rest of the clue.

If you provide some more information, then maybe someone can help. The whole clue would be a good start !!

25a is one of the clues where the answer has to be changed before entry into the grid. So, HEL is not in the answer - which is 6 letters, whereas the entry is only 5 letters.

Sorry, I think I may have misunderstood.

The answer to the clue is DEADEN.

Beloved = DEAR
Group of American scouts = DEN

The R is the extra letter.

Thanks Rollo, that is how I had worked it out but nice to have it confirmed.
BigDave 44, Inquisitor is not a straight crossword, the themes and wordplay differ weekly,and unless you actually have the grid, theme and extensive guidance in front of you, it is impossible to deduce. In this case wordplay in each clue yielded an extra letter in clue order to spell out a reference. This crossword is in the Saturday Independent's magazine.
