My Granddaughter came home from school with the following questions,"Look at advertisements on the TV and think about how they use sound, for example, music narration, voiceover, sound efects. Choose three contrasting adverts and use the tables to help you write about each one. She picked the advert about Febreeze with the dog spraying the product, the first question asked what sound was used, she has answered "a spray sound and talking, the 2nd question is How did the sound engage the audience, and the 3rd question is how did the sound complement the message of the advertisement, any help with the 2nd and 3rd questions will be greatly appreciated
reddevil, does your daughter understand the meaning of the questions? and did the teacher make sure that the class understood the questions? Is there a different ad. that she might find easier to use for this piece of work? Personally i don't find the febreeze ad that aurally engaging.
Woofgang, Thank you for your response, No I don't think my granddaughter quite understands, She has to do 3 adverts all together and if we could put into words why the sound of the advert engages the audience and complements the message of the advertisment this would be a great help, she does not have to use the febreeze advert, thank you once again
reddevil, the asda ad might be a good one?, maybe direct line insurance, churchill insurance (OOOH YES) How about you and she listening to the ads with your eyes shut to identify the ones where the sounds do engage your attention?
