Hi, I've starting doing this crossword each Monday and am having some success with the regular setter: Dante, but would love some advice on some clues this week please:
11a Constituent parts of cattle-food (5,5) -R---/--O-S
3d Inferior action, he's in, not I (5,4)
17d It's partly a republic, ie country without king (7) ----A--
I'm missing some others, but hope these will spur me on. Thanks!

3d) Lower Case

Hi Christiana,
Lower Case makes sense as an "inferior action" - but I don't understand how the clue works - can you explain please? Thanks.

Now managed to get 17d myself: Ireland.

So, can anyone advise on:
13d Rows of houses to sell on state order (9) v-n---t-s

Cheers!
Hi I assume it's because 'he' is in lower case, i.e small letters, whereas I is a capital letter.
3d. Inferior = lower. Action = case Hope this helps.
13d vendettas? Row as in quarrel. 'of houses to sell' is 'vend and anagram of state.
