Stuck on just one - 22a: it's something to do with Joseph Haydn and the clue reads - "with crude mutter paramount". I presume an anagram of the last 2 words, letters are 7 and 8. Other clues in the crossword are based on the nicknames of Haydn's symphonies, but I can find no reference to anything like this one. Google search comes up with nothing either. I have the letters ?e???r?, m?t?n?u?
Help please! Thanks, Barry

Thank you very much to the 2 kind souls who gave me the answer to this one. There was no mention of this name in my biggish Music Dictionary nor in the web sites I looked up re Haydn and nicknames via Google. Well done! And thanks. Barry
