Saturday Telegraph

I'm interested in the views of others. For the first time I did Saturdays DT cryptic in well less than an hour without having to look anything up and instinctively understanding how every answer was built. Too easy? Not for me, in my opinion much more fun than agonising over obscure clues and answers. Big Dave must have finished this one in five minutes!

It was not only easy, but I found it gave very little satisfaction. I tried to find some clues of merit to put on my blog, but it was a struggle.
When you first start with cryptics, just finishing is satisfaction in itself. I hope you will find in time that some clues that you can't understand at first glance, suddenly unravel in front of your eyes and give you a warm glow.

I agree with new to Cryptic. I had finished in well under an hour also without using Chambers or any other artificial aid! Usually there are a few that have me stumped. I thought it was a good crossword although perhaps a few clues were a bit too obvious. Depends how your mind works I think. I wonder how many are submitted each week and whether that number varies!
