yes, Instigator (1st letter) of reconstruction = R, olde London = WEN, so W(R)EN, the architect. A clever &lit. clue.

Thanks very much dr b. I would have just put Wren (as the architect) not understanding the clue. I didn't know Wen was a word for olde London!
And what is also excellent about this is that Wren was indeed an architect that was involved in the reconstruction of London after the Great Fire in 1666
