my daughter is over here for 6 months working from australia, she is british, but emigrated 15 years ago and has citizenship. my question is can she see a doctor as a british subject or does she have to pay private

To register with a gp you need to prove you are here for a "legal and settled purpose" (often surgeries interpret that as over 6 months but a work visa, or utility bill, or letter from employer will often do)
I know i always go n about it, but a definative answer about entitlement will be available from your local PALS (patient advice and liaison service) You can either call your local pct or it will be in the phone book
