Unfortunate names or anagrams in public life
11 Answers
OK, Ed Balls has been highlighted a couple of questions ago as a bad name to have as a public figure for obvious pun-opportunities.
D i c k Spring was another obvious one (I'm not sure that is allowed on AB - it is his legitimate name!)
Nigel Lawson had the most amazing anagram for the time he was in - 'we all sign on' (thanks to some program I heard on Radio 4 years ago)
Any more wittily unfortunate names, or anagrams of names?

The Conservative Party Leader David Cameron = Mr Charlatanry. Ever-evasive Eton dope addict
Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher = I'm the Grantham Premier! cries tart.

Priceless.
Also, an anagram of Madonna Louise Ciccone is both One cool dance musician and Occasional nude income
I leave it to you to decide which is the more accurate statement.

The MP for Ipswich used to be Ernle Money. His name was unfortunate because his election posters invariably suffered graffiti, so that the electorate were apparently invited to support a policy of 'Ernless Money'.
I've often felt that the American singer Lou Rawls has a rather unfortunate name. (Many British DJs seem to deliberately pronounce it as 'loo rolls').
