13a Discuss being worried by endless financial problem (6) D?B?T?. It must be 'debate' (discuss), but can someone explain? I assume DEB(T) as endless financial problem, but how is ATE 'being worried by'?

I also thought of 'debits', but where do the 'i' and 's' come from?
Have not a Times paper infront of me. Just thought Debt like you and Bits- worried to bits?

But why past tense? I also wondered if the 'being' could be extra-terrestrial...!
if eat=worry, then ate=worried
deb(t) + ate (worried)
